India’s Zero Tolerance Against Terrorism Is a Firm Line of Action, Says Rajnath Singh at Forces First Conclave

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India’s zero tolerance against terrorism is a firm line of action and highlighted Operation Sindoor as an example of technological warfare. He detailed defence sector reforms, indigenous production growth, missile systems, modernisation plans, and the target of achieving Rs 2 lakh crore defence production.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has declared that India’s zero tolerance policy against terrorism is not merely a statement of intent but a decisive line of action. Addressing the Forces First Conclave in New Delhi, Singh said that India has the capability and determination to target terrorists not only near its borders but also by entering their hideouts whenever required.

Highlighting India’s response to terrorism, the Defence Minister said the world witnessed this approach during Operation Sindoor, which emerged as a significant example of advanced technological warfare. He stated that the operation involved the deployment of sophisticated missile systems, including Akashteer, the Akash missile system, and BrahMos, along with several other modern defence technologies.

Singh emphasised that over the past twelve years, the Narendra Modi government has placed the revival and expansion of India’s defence sector among its highest priorities. He said the government has worked towards strengthening national defence preparedness while simultaneously reducing dependence on foreign imports for meeting the country’s defence requirements.

The Defence Minister stated that 75 per cent of the budget allocated for the modernisation of the Armed Forces has been reserved for procurement from Indian industries. He further announced that the government will introduce a new Defence Acquisition Procedure this year, which is expected to provide renewed momentum and greater strength to domestic defence manufacturing.
